Photo Art Friday....Vintage....

Photo Art Friday,
again...already.

Is it just me?  Or, is time speeding by?

This week, Bonnie asked us to do something
Vintage.

This is my take on the subject.

This old mailbox, is in front of the old, deserted house, from my last post.

I cloned out the mail inside the box.
Wonder just how long it has been there?

Then, I added Bonnie's textures...
'Brown Rice Paper', and 'Yesteryear'.
And, I put a frame from Photoscape.

It looks pretty
Vintage.

Photo Art Friday....Minimalist....

Friday, already.
Time for another
Photo Art Friday.

This week, Bonnie challenged us  with the subject 'Minimalist'.
It's always interesting to see how each of us interprets the prompts.

I'm not much of a 'minimalist'.  So, I was having a bit of trouble deciding what to do.

Then, when I went out for the paper this morning, this moon greeted me.

I ran inside for my camera, and was able to get a couple pretty good shots.

I did some editing in Photoscape.  This is just auto contrast.
Interesting how just that changed the color of the sky so much.

Then, I added one of Bonnie's great textures in PSE 9.
This is 'Fleeting Memory' at lighten, 100%.
I lightly removed a bit of the texture on the edge of the moon.

It looks a little dreamy...dreamlike... to me.

Photo Art Friday....Hardware...

This week on
Photo Art Friday,
Bonnie's challenge word is 'Hardware'.

I recently received a new laptop.

Photo Art Friday.  PDPA texture 'Brown Rice Paper'

I'd say it has some 'Hardware'.....and, I installed in some software, as well.

I have to say, I'm not really crazy about the new Windows 8.
It seems to be less efficient.  To me, anyway.
'New and improved' should be IMPROVED.
Don't you think?

But.....I am learning.

Thanks, Bonnie, for the great textures.

Photo Art Friday....Containers Edition...

It's Friday.
Must be

Photo Art Friday

This week's prompt is CONTAINERS.

These barrels, at Sister Creek Winery, in Sisterdale, Texas, fill the bill.

It's a small winery.  But, they produce good wines.

I textured these with two layers of Bonnie's Pixel Dust texture
'Linen Blind'.

Be sure to hop over to Pixel Dust Photo Art , and see some good photo art.

Photo Art Friday...Doors...

Wow!  Photo Art Friday...again...already.
Time flies.

This week, the prompt is 'DOORS'.

I used this door to one of the apartments/barracks at
San Jose Mission
in San Antonio.

I used a watercolor filter in PSE.
Then I added two of Bonnie's Pixel Dust textures:
'Painterly' @ multiply 64%
&
'Yesteryear' @ soft light 100%.

Thanks Bonnie, for the textures and for hosting

Photo Art Friday...Fences...

This week on Photo Art Friday, the theme is
'Fencing'.

I'm not sure an old Spanish mission qualifies, but here goes.

The San Antonio Mission Trail is quite interesting.
There are five missions, dating back to the 18th century.  Most still have working churches.

The photo above is a courtyard at Mission San Jose.
There are many fences...more like walls...at these missions.
They were places of safety, learning and faith.

I edited my image with two of Bonnie's Pixel Dust textures...
'painterly' @ mulitply 64%
and, 'Yesteryear' @ soft light 100%.
I used a watercolor filter on the background copy,
and added a frame from Photoscape.

It gives it a nice vintage look.

Photo Art Friday...Architecture...

Rooftops of Cartegena, Columbia.

Last year, we took a cruise to the
Panama Canal.
One port of call, was Cartegena, Columbia.

Cartegena is an old, walled city.  It was interesting, seeing all the old buildings...the people on the streets and a whole different way of life.

This photo was taken on the way back to the ship.  Churches...the dome of a guard house on the old city wall, and a tiled roof of an old building.

It's textured with two layers of PPDA Grunge Surprise texture...
once @ overlay & once @ multiply 43%.

Photo Art Friday...Painterly Edition....

This week, for Photo Art Friday,
we have the 'Painterly' Edition.

I did this one a while back, but thought it would fit the theme this week.

I cropped it and cloned out some of the background.
Then I used two layers of Bonnie's 'Serve Life' texture...
one @ normal, 60%
& one @ multiply 60%.

Then, I masked the texture off the dove and some off the fence post.

Here's the original.

Thanks Bonnie, for the textures.

Photo Art Friday...Candy Lily....

Candy Lily Bloom.

This is a photo of last year's bloom.  This year, the Candy Lily didn't bloom.  Too hot?  Too dry?
We've certainly had that, here in Central Texas.

Maybe next year....

Sailing Away from Costa Rica....

We took a cruise last spring, down to the Panama Canal.
On the way back, the ship stopped in Costa Rica.
It's a beautiful place.
Storms were forming, over the mountains, as we sailed away at sunset.

Chicken Little....

Chickens are interesting creatures.  They hunt and peck all day, looking for bugs or seeds or whatever there is to find.  Scratching and throwing hay and dirt all around the pen.

Recently, we were 'chicken sitters' for our son's chickens, while they were away on vacations.  We went up and made sure they had fresh water and feed.  They were always happy to see us.  The younger ones would run and hide under the coop, waiting to see what was going on.  The older one, above, would greet us, coming over to the gate....as if to say, 'What did you bring me, today?'

I think they're all wishing for the cool days of fall.
