{183-187} Project 365, 2014...

 183-365 'Horned Toad'
When I was a kid, 'Horny Toads', were everywhere.
I haven't seen one in the wild for years.
They're neat little creatures.
This one is resin.  He guards the new firepit planter.

 184-365 'Gone Fishing'
We visited our daughter and family, at their
campsite at Lake Texana.  This guy was fishing right off shore.
We've seen them in the ponds around our house, too.

 185-365 'Getting Ripe'

 186-365 'Happy 4th of July'
posted on the 4th, too.

187-365 'Purple Fountain Grass'

{127-132}--Project 365-2014...

 127-365
'Through the Island'
I try to give each area of our yard a name.
That way, when we talk about an area, we know which one.  It almost works.
This is the Island Bed.
We have a circular drive, and it just seemed to be the right name.
In the distance, is the Front Bed.

 128-365
'They're He-e-er'
It has begun.  The next generation of deer.
They're harder to catch sight of right now.
But, in a couple weeks, they'll be braver and the mommas will let them be seen more.
They're cute....but, they'll be eating the landscape soon.

 129-365
'Playin' Possum'
Look who we found, sleeping in the cat's bed, on the porch.
 A baby Possum.
We got him out of the bed and off the porch,
before the other furry critters...who live here...could get to him.
Or, the other way around.

 130-365
'Biloxi Beach'

 131-365
'New Bridge to Ocean Springs'
The old bridge, from Biloxi to Ocean Springs, Mississippi,
was torn up during Katrina's visit.  This is the new one.
Quite nice.

132-365
'Stormy Skies Over Biloxi'
There was stormy weather along the coast.
I tried to capture the sun coming through the clouds.
I think I used a polarizing filter on this.
I should write things down.

Visit of the Raccoon...

55-365
'Visit of the Raccoon'

We live on a golf course, in a small town.
There are lots of 'wild animals' around here...
mostly deer, but other things, too.

This little guy came into our yard, during the day.  Mostly, they just come around at
night....tearing up bird feeders and things.

He was acting strange...not aggressive...just like he was feeling really bad.
He wandered around a while, then wandered off.  We thought he was feeling better.

Later, the Animal Control came. (I didn't know we HAD Animal Control here).
They headed down to the creek, with a cage, and came back up with this
guy.  They took him away.

Maybe they helped him.

Nature isn't always pretty.

Willow Again...

35-365
Willow Again

Our neighbor's kitty, Willow.
He's hers...but, he lives on our porch.

Willow loves the grill cover....
whether it's off the grill and folded up...
or, still on the grill.

One More For January...365....

I'm finishing up my catch-up on my
365.

25-365
Icicle at the Rain Barrel

26-365
Tree Carver

Some trees died, in back of one of our favorite local restaurants.
Instead of taking the trees down, they're having them carved....
by a Chain Saw Artist.
Amazing what can be done with a chain saw.

27-365
Sweet Gift

Our neighbor gave us this sweet little guy, for Christmas.

28-365
Ice Again

We had that gorgeous day, watching the Chain Saw Artist.
Then....freezing rain again.
This yo-yo weather is annoying.

29-365
Sunshine and Low Winds

Still cold...but, sunny.

30-365
Another One Bites the Dust

We have an on-going battle, with the squirrels and especially raccoons.
I've lost count of how many feeders the raccoon have destroyed.
This is the latest.

31-365
Washday Still Life

OK...that's January!!
