This week on Photo Art Friday, the theme is
'Fencing'.
I'm not sure an old Spanish mission qualifies, but here goes.
The San Antonio Mission Trail is quite interesting.
There are five missions, dating back to the 18th century. Most still have working churches.
The photo above is a courtyard at Mission San Jose.
There are many fences...more like walls...at these missions.
They were places of safety, learning and faith.
I edited my image with two of Bonnie's Pixel Dust textures...
'painterly' @ mulitply 64%
and, 'Yesteryear' @ soft light 100%.
I used a watercolor filter on the background copy,
and added a frame from Photoscape.
It gives it a nice vintage look.
I'm linking up with Bonnie at
Hop over and see some great photo art.
Thanks for dropping by...

I think it is the perfect spot. I love the fence and the view of the mission.
ReplyDeletebeautiful piece!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been planning to go the San Jose Missions for a while, and you just reminded me about it :)
I like how the textures you applied emphasize the rough feeling of the stone and wood, and how the blending modes amplify the warm tones of the place.
ReplyDeleteOh I think this qualifies. It's really well done and very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou have given this a real vintage feel with your edits. Love how you have so many interesting elements in one piece: primitive fencing, stone walls, arches, statue with a bit of greenery and a hint of sky. Perfect. Thank you for sharing your work with Photo Art Friday, Linda!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, historic image.
ReplyDeletethe symmetry of your photo is great ...
ReplyDeleteand you chose the perfect rendering to enhance the historical feeling of the old mission
